Guest Designer at Creative Scrappers

I'm honored to be a Guest Designer at Creative Scrappers. And more so when I was selected as their new design team member! Thanks Kristine for the opportunity. I did a couple of layouts of Sketch #75 below. I was not 100% satisfied with my first layout, so I made another one.

You can be featured too! They are looking for Guest Designers for Nov/Dec. The details are here. Just send Kristine your name and email address, 3 of your latest layouts, a link to your blog or your online gallery. The deadline is on October 28th. Come on, I know I have lots of talented friends and visitors to my blog, so send in your layouts!

Here is our latest Raya pics layout. I bought this lovely (and very cheap) S.E.I Chocolat paper pack from my last visit to Houston, and I just love love them! It's pink and chocolate, and have lots of butterflies and glitters, perfect for me! This layout is also for October challenge at Create Make It Happen, where it's all about Raya or any celebrations!

And here is another layout of the same sketch.. this one is of my lovely princess, and guess what, more butterflies! This layout is also for Scrap the Girls November challenge, where you have to do an interview style layout of your girls. Here the highlight is Zara's favorite things to do, now that she's almost 2. She really loves to dance & sing to just any music and almost everywhere. She also loves to look pretty & nice, and loves nice & colorful clothes. Now she picks her own clothes, can you believe it? And most of all, she loves to smile and looking very sweet, even when I'm scolding her. How can I get mad at her with that smile?

Sneaky Peeky!

Here is a sneak peak of a layout I did as a guest designer. Please come back on Monday for the reveal :) Have a nice weekend!

Masquerade

I've done this layout for quite some time, but only got a chance to upload it now. Here is another layout from Creative Scrappers, Sketch#72. I am a bit behind on their sketches but I am looking forward to work as part of their design team! Can't wait for our first reveal on November 1st! For this layout, I used Making Memories Que Sera papers. I just love the vibrant colors and lovely details, that I don't have to include lots of other embellishments to make this layout works.

This layout is of our company's annual dinner back when I was pregnant with Zara in 2007. It was a really fun night as almost everyone dressed up, I mean really dressed up to the masquerade theme. My husband and I even rented out costume for the night; he became a gladiator while I wore a medieval dress. I remembered I gave birth to our princess about 2 weeks after this night. :))

It is sad to tell you that Creative Scrappers Forum & Gallery is shutting down soon. I really enjoyed the forum and love the inspirations from the gallery. However, the weekly challenges will still be up through the blog, so you can still participate in the sketch challenges. Hope you can join us in the challenges soon.

The long weekend is almost over.. :( But I would like to wish my Hindu friends Happy Diwali, may you have a festive Diwali. I managed to create a few layouts over the busy weekend; a weekend full of more open houses. Tomorrow is the last day of Syawal, so that's the end of open houses!

This layout of me is for Are You Feeling Groovie? October challenge. The challenge is to create a monochromatic layout. If possible, create a layout about oneself using the color that best describe oneself. For me, no doubt my color is pink! Plus, these papers from Basic Grey Porcelain collection are just gorgeous!! And of course, they are pink (with hint of green).

This layout is inspired by Twisted Sketches #19. The twist this week is to use any ink, where I used distressed ink over the edge of my papers. I am not sure about the title for this layout, but the Porcelain stickers have this cute "Tweet" title and decided to use it as my title and think that it matches great with my layout.

Thanks for Looking!

Don't mess with me

This month I'm a bit slow on the challenges.. maybe because I am working again.. bummer! :) But I always participate in Scrap the Boys, I just love their challenges. For October, it's an inspiration challenge from this cool poster. I like the overlapping circles and the journaling around them, so that's why I did in my layout. This picture of Zareef was taken after his 4th birthday party, where he was testing his new sword. His expression said it all.. "DON'T MESS WITH ME!!"

Mama's Boy

Another layout inspired by Creative Scrappers Sketch #71. I love having circle elements in my layout, so I love this sketch! This picture of Zareef and me is one of my favorite. The Basic Grey June Bug collection is perfect for this happy picture too. Plus the die-cut flowers from June Bug fit the circle nicely. TFL!

3rd place at Scrap the boys!

I just found out that I won 3rd prize at Scrap the boys birthday challenge! I won a $20 store voucher at Scrap of Your Life. This is just awesome! Thanks for picking my Mechana Party layout!

Baby boy Ammar gift

Here is the mini album done at Papier's make-n-take that was conducted by ever lovely Jessy during Papier's Aloha party. I decorated the album as a gift to a dear friend, who just had her 2nd boy about 2 months ago. The album is very simple to make, and is perfect for gifts. I hope that my friend likes it.
